Greenheck to Expand Production Workforce
Greenheck Fan Corporation, one of Central Wisconsin's largest manufacturers, will hire 125 new production workers at its Schofield operation during the next several months to meet increasing demand for the air movement and control products it manufactures and distributes worldwide. In addition, the company is also expanding employment at its Sacramento, CA and Frankfort, KY manufacturing plants. In 2004 the company has already expanded its workforce by almost 40 production employees in Schofield.
Despite a slowed economy that reduced US commercial building construction during the past four years by 26%, Greenheck substantially increased its share of the building ventilation equipment market during that same period. During the past four years, the company’s sales continued to improve year over year due to its significantly expanded product portfolio, productivity improvement initiatives, and the sales efforts of their strong manufacturing representative organization. In recent months, as the economy has continued to improve and commercial construction activity began to recover, orders for Greenheck products have surged to record levels.
Company officials also attribute the need to hire more production workers due to Greenheck’s recent purchase of The AIROLITE Company in Marietta, Ohio. Increased production of AIROLITE louvers, which are installed on the exterior facade of a building to draw air into the building, is scheduled to begin at Greenheck plants in Schofield, Kentucky, and California in August.
“In recent years, we have achieved market leadership in building ventilation in the U.S, and we are growing our presence in other markets around the world. We are well-positioned for greater growth in the future,” said Dwight Davis, Greenheck President and CEO. “Our success in recent years is directly related to the outstanding efforts and talents of the hardworking employees who are shareholders in the company as the result of our Employee Stock Ownership Retirement Plan. We are delighted to be able to hire new people from the local area to join our team.”
"Greenheck is looking for individuals who have demonstrated long term employment, preferably in a manufacturing setting, with good mechanical and math abilities." stated Jon Krueger, Vice President of Human Resources. "Applications are available on our web site at www.greenheck.com or at the Human Resources Dept. located at 2103 Ross Ave. in Schofield."
With annual sales exceeding $250 million, Greenheck is the leading global manufacturer of a wide range of air movement and control equipment for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings. The company, which began operations in 1947, employs more than 1,700 and is headquartered in Schofield, Wisconsin. They have five manufacturing locations and twelve distribution centers across the country and around the world.
